Hi, I’m Jonathan Steward if you couldn’t tell from the website!

This space is a general dump of information that comes into my mind or weird observations from projects or interesting discoveries that I might make along the path. Over time I want to move this more to specific content focused on given topics but for now I still need to grow my knowledge before I can speak like an expert!

So far I have around 3 years of industry experiance in the Internet edge of AWS. While this has set me up well I feel my knowledge of traditional networking technologies has slipped so I’m certainly weaker there now than I was leaving university.

Looking forward to my time In Techex I’m already getting involved in Multicast and SDN controlled networks in an interesting way. But as the company is smaller than the likes of AWS I’m also supporting the internal network and smaller more unique networks so with this comes the chance to gain experience on a wide range of topics and functions from design to troubleshooting.

Outside of work, I’m still on the hunt for those all-important certifications and currently, I’m trying to get JNCIP-SP before I flip back to focusing on Cisco certifications again.
I’m always on the lookout for personal projects so if you have a general networking project that isn’t broadcast/video focused then get in touch and maybe I can be a part of making it happen!
